Jean's obituary

Jean Sieverts Jensen, passed away from her battle with Dementia on December 27, 2021.

Jean was born April 8, 1940 to parents John Sieverts and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Sieverts in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from East High School in 1958. She went on to pursue a degree in Humanities and General Education.  Jean met Larry in 1957. They were married on May 5th, 1961 in Salt Lake City Utah. Early in their marriage, Jean and Larry moved to California where together they raised four children: Coralie, Mike, Steve and Cathy.

Jean was an exceptional homemaker and excelled at all things sewing, decorating, and entertaining. She worked several places over the years: First Security National Bank, Hercules Power Co, as Avon Lady and wedding coordinator. Wearing clothing that showed off her impressive sewing skills, Jean was approached to design window displays for her local fabric store. Her longest held job was as administrative assistant for TRS Roofing Consultants.

Jean was a wonderful Grandma who made sure her grandchildren and great-grandchildren felt loved at all times. She loved to fill her home with garage sale “treasures” and her grandkids all loved to tag along. They will remember her silk scarves, the infamous garage-sale fanny pack, gas station soda runs, and quality time spent together.

Jean was passionate in her love of Lake Tahoe and the time spent with her friends & family there. She especially loved her annual girls’ trip (28 years) with her life-long best friends JoAnn Raynor and Raelene Moore. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting, traveling and Diet Pepsi.

Her life was filled with love for her family, hard work, and laughter. She is missed dearly and will be thought of whenever we go to Tahoe, wherever a garage sale sign is spotted, and anytime we look around our families to see her legacy live on.

Jean is survived by her husband, Lawrence Willes Jensen, and children, Coralie (Mark) Harless, Michael (Becky) Jensen, Steven (Jennifer) Jensen, & Cathy Jensen. Also, she's survived by her younger siblings, Carolyn Sieverts & David Sieverts.

Jean has 11 Grandchildren: Andrew Harless, Jennie Dickson, Chelsea Salvatierra, Zack Harless, Ryan Jensen, Matthew Jensen, Janelle Driggs, Chad Harless, Scott Jensen, Jenna Jensen, & Tagert Jensen

Great-grandchildren: Henry, Bennett & Brooklyn Dickson, Elizabeth Salvatierra, Christian Harless, Ella Harless, & Summer Driggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 older brothers, Jack & Reed Sieverts.

A Memorial Service will be held at her church for anyone who would like to join with us.
