Janet lived a life of faith and joy in the midst of many hardships and was a great example to us all. I am so thankful to have known her and look forward to seeing her again one day. My wife, Natalie, never met Janet, yet she remarked after her memorial service that she felt like she had made an impact on her. She was truly a special person.
Janet's faith and positivity made her an excellent role model. I'm so thankful for the time we got to spend together.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you can find some comfort in Isaiah 25:8, which says, "He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces." It's a beautiful promise of a time when our sadness will be replaced with lasting peace.

My mom’s life was a story of courage.

From the very beginning, she faced challenges most people can’t imagine. Mom endured surgeries throughout her childhood, long stretches trapped in a body cast, and doctors telling her again and again that she wouldn’t make it.

But she did.

She was told holding down a job would be too tough for her. Yet mom worked at the Arkansas state capitol.
She was warned that getting married would be very difficult for her. Yet mom met and married the love of her life and was by his side every day for more than 60 years.
They told her she could not raise children. She raised a son.
They said she should not travel. Yet she traveled the world.
They said mom wouldn’t be around long enough to see me grow and become a man.

But she did.

Even as mom’s body grew weaker, forced to be on oxygen for 4 decades, breathing equipment, and eventually a trach that stole her voice, yet mom didn’t let that stop her. There were times she couldn’t eat. Times she couldn’t speak. But mom always found a way.
She pushed through every hardship with faith in God, love for her family, and a spirit that never slowed down. She didn’t just survive, she overcame.

Speaking for myself. When life puts something heavy in front of me, I think of mom. I sense her strength, even in the silence. And it gives me the strength and inspiration to keep going.
Mom was with us 81 years and I can honestly say she truly LIVED.

Words cannot convey how she is missed. I love you mom.

I enjoyed cleaning for Janet on Friday's, she would take a pill on Fridays and call it Tammy pill lol

She would have Richard wash her hair before I get there and she would be ready for me to put her rollers in her hair.

We would sit and talk before I would start my job.  I would help her prepare for their dinner, we would put it in the crockpot. I've stayed with her when Richard went out of town and we would have a good time or Kevin would ask if I would stay with his parents for a couple of days. I'll miss talking to her on the phone or she'll send me a text. I loved her, very sweet person, kind and very loving. RIP Janet
