Jean's obituary
In 1955, she married enlisted USMC Milford D Smith and they moved to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where their two children Sandra Gail and Teresa Ann were born.
In 1963, Mr. Smith left the service and the family moved to North Central Texas where he began a livelihood in the drywall business. In 1967, the marriage ended in divorce and Mrs. Smith remained unmarried raising the two daughters until their middle and high school years. Mrs. Smith was an Administrative Assistant for an architectural firm in Dallas during the 1970's and 1980's. She is most remembered for her creative cooking, her ornate gift wrapping talents, being an Authur Murray dance instructor, loving all things big-band related and for her survival skills during the 1969 Hurricane Camille. In 1988, she had the opportunity to travel to Goéppingen, Germany and for a couple of years she immersed herself in the culture and made many friends. She returned to Dallas and remained there in the city she called home until her death.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter Sandra and her husband David Ponsler and her daughter Teresa (Johnson) and her husband Robert Lukowicz with Teresa's two sons Jerry Worth Johnson. III and Brian Douglas Johnson. Also surviving her are her two nephews Larry Green and Jimmy Green. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Austin Howard Green, her sister Vivian Jewel Potts, and her nephew Bobby Joe Potts.
