Background
Jean Gelormino, of Torrington, passed away on Friday December 29, 2023, at Apple Care Rehab in Cromwell.. Her departure follows a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, a journey she faced with resilience, humor, and grace.
Jean was born in Torrington on March 12, 1943 to August and Adrienne Mahieu. She was raised with strong connections to serving her community through the French Congregational Church, United Congregational Church, the East Litchfield Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and the Lions Club of Torrington. Not only was she a Melvin Jones Award recipient, past president, and lifetime member of the Lions Club of Torrington, Jean embraced a myriad of volunteer roles, tirelessly fundraising and providing essential services to uplift her community.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Lions Club of Torrington Contribute
