Jean's obituary

**In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Nanny**

Our cherished Jean Elizabeth Dwyer [93], a resident of North Fort Myers, FL, for the past twenty-seven years, formerly of Wilmington, DE, lovingly known as "Nanny," passed away from this world peacefully Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Port Charlotte. She was born March 28, 1931, at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.

She also attended nursing school at St. Francis Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.

Infusing her home and children through culture, Jean had a profound love for art, which she expressed with her own beautiful creations. Her home was a testament to her artistic spirit, filled with paintings, sketches, and crafts she lovingly made. She loved to travel, and she also enjoyed playing bridge in the community, for a good time.

Her greatest joy came from her family. Jean was the mother of four children, who were each a vital part of her world. But it was her role as a grandmother that truly defined her. To her grandchildren, she was more than just a grandmother; She played an integral role in their lives and always encouraged their dreams.

Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 74 years, Paul Dwyer [95] of N. Ft. Myers; children Patricia Pietuszka of N. Ft. Myers, Karen Pinion of N. Ft. Myers, and Anne Cochran (Stephen) of Elkton, MD; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and countless friends and extended family members who were touched by her.

Jean was preceded in death by her brother Ted Weeden, son Joseph Dwyer, and grandson Christopher Frame.

She has taught us the importance of cherishing our family, celebrating our heritage, and finding beauty in everyday life.

We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Jean's extraordinary life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American's for the Arts at https://www.americansforthear…, in honor of her lifelong passion for art and loving heart.

Though she may no longer be with us, the love and memories she leaves behind will continue to inspire us. She will forever remain in our hearts and thoughts, guiding us with her enduring spirit and the timeless legacy of a life well-lived.

Rest in peace, dear Nanny. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
