It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the death of Jean Descault (Dow), who passed away on January 24, 2024. after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Born on January 16, 1937, Jean lived a simple and giving life, leaving many beautiful memories in her wake.

Jean is survived by her 3 children: Laura J. Descault, Ronald R. Descault, and Harold R. Descault. And her partner, Timothy Bolduc.  She was predeceased by her husband, Richard H. Descault, and her parents, Marion & Arthur Mullarky.

Renowned for her punctuality, courteousness and honesty, Jean was a kind-hearted lady to all who knew her. Her smile lit up the room and that smile will forever be remembered.

Crossword, Jeopardy, Playing Yahtzee and Bunco with her friends were her chosen pastimes.  Jean was also an excellent speller.  She had a lifelong fondness for the serene landscapes of Rhode Island and Maine. They were among her favorite destinations.

Blue, the color of calmness and stability, was Jean's favorite, perfectly mirroring her personality. Jean's memory will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Her daughter, Laura, beautifully expressed these sentiments stating, "I will miss my mother, my friend very much. I am eternally grateful to and for her." Indeed, she will be sorely missed, but my memories of her will forever be cherished.
