Jean-Claude's obituary
Jean-Claude Cadet, the last son of Arthur and Fernande Cadet passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 15, 2025 at the age of 86.
Jean-Claude is survived by his wife, Mona Byas Cadet along with their 3 children. Randolph Vernon Cadet with his wife Camille Cadet, Tamara Cadet-Nicaes with her husband Robinson Nicaes and Jean Paul Cadet with his wife Blanca Cadet. Along with his 7 grandchildren, Christian 25, Justin 24, Jasmine 20, Ayanah 24, Jaylen, Josiah, and Alanah.
He was born in Jacmel, Haiti on May 02, 1939. Jean-Claude was the youngest among his siblings of 10. With his passing, he is preceded in death by his sisters Simone Duroseau and Raymonde Dupoux to continue their parent’s legacy.
His childhood in Haiti is filled with stories of him xxxxx. ( get the knickname tante Simone she to call him when she helped with his homework.
Jean-Claude met Mona first xxxx and they wed on June xxxx
He came to America on July xxx196 and his wife Mona joined him on May xxx196. Jean-Claude’s first job was at St. Bartholomew Church in Elmhurst, Queens. After that he was employed by Ford Motors in Mahwah, NJ where he worked until he was injured and took an early retirement. The majority of his life was spent living in Richmond Hill, NY where him and Mona raised their 3 children and where 5 of his grandchildren were born.
Known for his outgoing friendly nature, there was not an area among Richmond Hill or Queens in general where Jean-Claude was not known or recognized.
Because of his expertise in auto mechanic, there was always a car or two in our driveway that he was working on and it brought him great joy.
Jean-Claude had many interest and hobbies,
he enjoyed gardening, going to the buffet where he would over divulge in seafood, his weekly dominoes game, BiNGO scratch off and lastly going to the flea market.
He enjoyed his role as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He never missed a birthday, family function and was always there in any capacity. When you think of Jean-Claude Cadet, remember him for his humor, ability to fix anything, his zest for life and that be lived is life on his status.
The Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at [location, date and time]. The family asks that donations be made instead of flowers or other gifts in order to support the (Suzette to provide name of school. )
