Our beloved Jean Cass, age 88, passed away peacefully with her family members by her side on June 24, 2025 in La Marque, Texas.

Jean was born on August 8, 1936 in Los Angeles, California. She was the devoted wife of the late James Cass, with whom she shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2016. They are now reunited in eternal rest.

Jean was a woman of strength, compassion, and generosity. She dedicated her life to her family and found joy in the simple moments—sharing meals, offering a listening ear, and supporting her loved ones through life.

Jean is survived by her loving family, sons: Johnny Cruz of La Marque, TX, Alex (Rose) Cruz of Tacoma, WA; daughters: Genevieve (Jim) Scholes of Texas City, TX, Gemma Panaog of La Marque, TX and Carmen (Raymond) Abalos of Mesquite, TX, along with her siblings: George (Linda) Cruz of Lawton, Anita De Los Angeles of Philippines, Gloria Fox of Killeen, TX, Marietta Samson of Philippines, Francisco Cruz of Las Vegas, NV and grandchildren Odie (Amy) Freeman III of Norfolk, VA, Jamie (Ben) Domingo, Jacklyn Cruz of La Marque, TX, Andrea Freeman of Richmond, TX, John (Emily) Cruz of San Antonio, TX, KC Cruz of Tacoma, WA, and Michael ( Aleisha) Cruz of Tacoma, WA; great-grandchildren: Mirabel Freeman of Norfolk, VA, Jeanelle, Emery, and Ben Domingo Jr. all of Buckeye, AZ, Jaiyla, Jaslynn, Josiah, and Kereon Cruz all of La Marque, TX, Elena Cruz of San Antonio, TX, and Kayleigh and Chandler Cruz of Tacoma, WA.

She was preceded in death by her sister Norma Canlas and her granddaughter Roxanne Cruz.

Jean Cass was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
