Jayson's obituary

Jayson Lee Crist, age 47, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in Shreveport, LA. Family and friends will be hosting a celebration of life on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, at 4:00–5:45 p.m. at Sissy's Playhouse, 2328 Barksdale Blvd., Bossier City, LA 71112.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Phillip Crist; brother, Shawn P. Pierce; great-nephew, Landen Keith Banks; and sister, Cheryl Lynn Banks.

Born in Bossier City, LA, at Barksdale Air Force Base on August 15th, 1975, to proud parents John Phillip Crist and Sharon Kay Dillon. Jayson grew up in Bossier and attended Parkway High School. After high school, Jayson began to focus on becoming a family man. Growing his own company that was centered around his love of carpentry and a skill set as a “Jack of all Trades.” He was a proud and loving father to three children, McCoy, Kaylynn, and Phillip Crist. Jayson was known to always be there for anyone in their time of need without expecting anything in return. He is missed dearly by countless friends and family members.

Jayson will always be remembered as a proud father and a great friend. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need without hesitation. In his eyes, there were no boundaries between friends and family. To know him was to love him.

Jayson is survived by his children, McCoy Wesley Crist, Kaylynn Elizabeth Crist, and Phillip Lee Crist. Daughter-in-law, Alicia Dawn Crist. Niece, Devin Banks Burt; Nephew, David Austin Dillon; and Great-Nephew, Nolan Wayne Jessee. Brothers, John Crist II, Lyndon DeCamp, and David G. Dillon. Mother Sharon Kay Dillon with husband David K. Dillon. Former wife, Tanya Avery Crist, along with numerous friends and family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep his memory alive and always remember his kindness.
