Jaydee's obituary

Jaydee Melton Fehrer, age 76, passed away on January 27, 2026, in Longmont, Colorado, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jaydee was a longtime resident of Firestone, Colorado.

Jaydee was born on October 2, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, to Daniel and Margaret Fehrer.

Jaydee was drafted during the Vietnam War and proudly served his country in the United States Army as a member of the Army Medical Corps. Inducted into active duty on July 7, 1970, he attained the rank of Specialist Four (E-4) and served as a Medical Specialist until he was honorably discharged.

Following his military service, Jaydee built a long career in the automobile industry, where he worked until his retirement. Never one to sit still, he later continued serving his community by working as a bus driver for the St. Vrain School District.

In his earlier years, Jaydee had a deep passion for martial arts and earned a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo and Hapkido. He found great joy not only in the practice itself, but in teaching martial arts to others and sharing the discipline and confidence it brought him.

Jaydee had a lifelong love of cars. His 2011 Ford Mustang was his pride and joy—second only to his children. He was a familiar face at neighborhood car shows and treasured time spent at Bandimere Speedway with good friends, surrounded by engines, laughter, and camaraderie.

Above all else, Jaydee was devoted to his children and took immense pride in being their father. He will be remembered for his loyalty, work ethic, and the passions that defined his life.

Jaydee was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, John Fehrer. He is survived by his sister Eileen Black; daughters Ashley Fehrer and Heidi Seth; sons David Fehrer and Daniel Fehrer; nephews James Fehrer, Brian Fehrer, Ben Fehrer, and Jonathan Fehrer; niece Stephanie Weber; grandchildren Malakai Seth, Andi Seth, Brianna Fehrer, Sydney Fehrer, Tyler Fehrer, Avery Fehrer, and Jesse Fehrer, and five great-grandchildren.
