Dear Jasper,

I still think about you every day. So many times I found myself saying to others .. "if Jasper were here, he would have ... " and then share something amazing you would have done. But mostly I just wish I could give you a hug. I remember how hard it was to reach all the way around you to give you a good squeeze ... so hard to get a good grip around that giant frame and broad shoulders.

I talk to you in my dreams ... I smile, we laugh, it is never awkward. I usually wake up in tears, joyful that we had some time together but still heartbroken that you are not here with us every day living alongside us, growing old together with your brothers and all of us here who love you.

You would be 25 today. Not everyone gets to live to 94. You made a bigger impact in your first 23 than most people do in a lifetime. Happy birthday, my precious boy. We will all see you soon enough.

Jasper always made me laugh, and was always so kind to everyone. I am sad I just found out about his passing. But I will cherish the memories I had with him throughout high-school. A couple years ago we ran into each other at the grocery store and decided to catch up over dinner he was sweet and whitty and I have carried that that memory since. I found out about his passing tonight at the same restaurant I last saw him. I know his kindness and humor will be survived in our memories. Rest easy my friend you are a good one.
