Jason's obituary
Jason Michael Villa, age 42, passed away at his home on November 25, 2025 in Chino, California.
Jason was a talented artist, a gifted photographer, and a deeply loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He had a brilliant mind, a unique sense of humor, and a quiet, steady presence that made people feel cared for and seen. Jason was the kind of person who could do anything he set his mind to—skilled, thoughtful, technical, and meticulous in everything he did.
Jason grew up in Diamond Bar, California, where he created lifelong friendships and countless memories. He graduated from Diamond Bar High School in 2001, attended Mt. San Antonio College, and later graduated from Cal Poly Pomona.
He began his career at Lanterman Developmental Center in Diamond Bar, and later joined Hot Topic as a photographer. When Hot Topic and Torrid separated into distinct companies, Jason continued his career with Torrid, where he served as Studio Manager and Lead Photographer. Jason worked with Torrid for 16 years, and his creative eye, attention to detail, and compassionate leadership left a lasting impression on his coworkers and the many people he mentored. Those who worked with him remember not just his talent, but his patience, kindness, and reliability.
Outside of work, Jason was a self-taught musician and guitarist, sharing music often with his parents and their friends’ band. He loved photography, music, technology, and hands-on projects. He was known for being neat and tidy, precise, and just a little bit OCD, in the most endearing way. He was good at everything he did, but even more importantly, he was good to the people around him.
Jason is survived by his mother, Kathy Woolsey, and by his father, Michael Gene Villa (Karen), as well as his Step-Siblings, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, along with many coworkers and friends who will carry his memory forward. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents.
