Jason's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Jason Robinson, born on October 12, 1982, and departed from this world on October 11, 2023. A quiet, loving, caring and gentle giant by nature, Jason leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will forever resonate amongst those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Robinson, his favorite Aunt and other mother Doris Wallace, his Aunt Linda Haynes, Aunt and Uncle Jacqueline and Mark France, and favorite Uncle, Henry Wallace and a host of cousins relatives and friends. Jason was predeceased by his father, Clarence Hastings; his grandparents, Annie Mae and Lloyd Robinson; and Ernestine and Leonard Wallace Sr. Jason was an only child but to him, his many cousins were his brothers and sisters, a bond that could not be broken or replaced. His absence will be deeply felt by all.
After graduating from Schurz High School in 2000, Jason further pursued his education at Malcolm X College and North Eastern University in 2002. A hardworking man, Jason started his professional journey at JP Morgan Chase in 2004.
Despite his professional commitments, Jason found time for his society and his church, Carey Tercentenary A.M.E. Being raised in the church, Jason participated in many Christmas and Easter plays as well as participating in Sunday school. He volunteered his time during Sunday service by serving on the Usher Board and showed us all that contributing to the community is a fulfilling and important part of life.
Jason was a man of diverse interests. He loved Chinese food and Italian beefs, and he had a preference for flavored soda and an occasional Bud Light. A fan of the written word, his favorite book was Game of Thrones. He had a deep appreciation for hip hop and rap, with a special attachment to Snoop Dogg’s music. Jason’s favorite pastimes were reading, playing video games, feeding his fish and of course, watching his favorite Chicago sports teams, wrestling and TV shows such as WWE Raw and Steve Wilkos. His passion extended to all gaming systems, from PlayStation and Xbox to Sega and Nintendo.
Jason’s favorite color was black, just like his quiet and mysterious yet caring personality. His life is best summarized by one of his favorite lessons, that of love. As we remember Jason, we are reminded to embrace love and kindness towards each other just as he did throughout his life.
Jason’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and kindness; he will be truly missed but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
