Jason's obituary
Jason was born in 1974 in the San Fernando Valley where he spent his youth. His passion for good friends, the beach, and Reggae music carried on with him into adulthood. After high school Jason moved to San Diego, California where he attended school, surfed, and ocean fished with his close friends from high school. While in San Diego, Jason met the love of his life and partner, Nicole Stetson.
Jason's love of the ocean and passion for the environment led him to a career in the United States Coast Guard. While Jason was serving in the Coast Guard, he and Nicole resided in Washington. After his military service, Jason and Nicole returned to Southern California to be near their family and friends. Not long after relocating, Jason and Nicole welcomed their daughter Kirra into their lives.
Jason enjoyed working in Parks and Recreation for the County of Los Angeles, the City of Lancaster, the City of Santa Clarita, the City of Encinitas, and the City of Moorpark, but his true passion was his family. Jason was a phenomenal father and husband who spent most of his time with Kirra teaching her about nature, surfing, music, and art. Jason passed on to Kirra his love of animals, the ocean, traveling, Reggae music, and his infectious joy.
Jason was many things to many people; father, husband, son, brother, and friend. Jason was always the life of the party. He was fiercely dedicated to his favorite team, the Miami Dolphins. Later on in life he found his second favorite team, and spent the final years of his life enjoying Los Angeles Rams games with his family and friends. Jason will be remembered by all who knew him as being loyal, kind, helpful, funny; an amazing father, husband, son, brother, and friend.
