Jason's obituary
In Loving Memory of Jason Anthony Cornelio
May 4, 1988 – July 16, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Jason Anthony Cornelio, who left this world far too soon on July 16, 2025, at the age of 37.
Born on May 4, 1988, Jason was a bright light whose warmth, laughter, and unforgettable smile touched everyone he met. He was a husband, a loving father, a cherished son, brother, and a loyal friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lindsey, and their two sons, Elijah and Tristan, who were the pride and joy of his life. Jason was a phenomenal father—supportive, playful, patient, and endlessly proud of his boys.
He is survived by his loving mother, Carmen Rosario, who he stood beside through every chapter of life. He also leaves behind his brother Steve Gonzalez, sister Jessica Ortiz, sister-in-law Yvette Gonzalez, brother-in-law Richard Ortiz and his treasured nieces and nephews: Mariah, Steven Jr., Bianca, Matthew, Clarissa, Richard Jr., and Jaelyn. Jason also leaves behind his loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
A true multi-sport athlete, Jason’s competitive drive and love for the game were matched only by his passion for music, dance, and fashion. A proud sneakerhead and fashionista, he had an unmistakable sense of style and a presence that lit up every room. His energy was magnetic—he was the life of every party, the one who made people laugh, brought joy, and turned ordinary moments into cherished memories.
Jason lived boldly and fearlessly. Though life took him through New York, Puerto Rico, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Florida, it was Virginia that he called home. He loved the beach and had a spirit of adventure—often traveling and exploring new places with his wife by his side.
Jason had a remarkable gift with children. He was more than just an uncle—he was a mentor, a coach, and the fun, cool dad everyone adored. Whether gathering neighborhood kids for a pickup game in the grass or introducing his nephews to the world of sports, fashion, or even their first crushes, Jason created memories filled with laughter, life lessons, and love. His influence lives on in their hearts.
Though his time with us was far too brief, Jason’s impact was immeasurable. He brought joy, connection, and light to all who knew him. His spirit, his smile, and his boundless love will be deeply missed—but never forgotten.
We will carry Jason in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that those who wish to honor Jason’s memory consider making a donation toward supporting Elijah and Tristan’s future activities and passions—something Jason would have loved deeply and appreciated wholeheartedly.
