Jason's obituary
Jason Douglas Carlson passed away far too soon at the age of 54. He was a father, a brother, and a loyal friend. Jason was kind, hardworking, and always looking for a good time. His life was a mix of joy, struggle, and quiet strength.
Jason was known for his hands-on approach to helping others. A skilled worker and natural teacher, he shared what he knew with patience and humility. He didn’t often talk about what he felt, but when able his actions revealed a caring heart.
Jason had just a few close friends, but those bonds ran deep. Though he struggled to maintain contact and often found it difficult to communicate, the people who knew him best understood him and how much he valued their connection. He wasn’t always easy to reach, but when you had him, you had all of him.
In recent years, Jason was estranged from much of his family, a distance that weighed heavily on both sides. Despite the separation, love and memories remain.
Jason brought laughter into the spaces he occupied. He loved a good time, had a great sense of humour, and could find joy in the everyday. He was a man of contradictions; warm but guarded, generous but private, near but hard to hold onto.
Though his time was short, Jason left behind lessons, laughter, and lasting impressions.
He will be remembered with love and sorrow, not because he was perfect, but because he was real. Imperfect, deeply human, and unforgettable in his own way. Missed and never forgotten.
