Jarrett Wayne “Jay” Gause Sr., Age 37 of Elmira, New York, passed away on Monday, May 22nd, 2023, in his apartment. He was born on March 7th, 1986, in South Carolina, the son of Ramona Reed and Marion Gause. He married Michelle Gause on September 1st, 2002.

Jarrett was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He faced many struggles in his life, but in the last year and a half of his life, he had begun to try to regain control over his life and try to make amends. His mental illness and addiction made it difficult for people to see the person he truly was, a kind man who cared deeply for those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Gause of Dundee, sister, Jolene Spaulding of Corning, two brothers, Joshua Bredderman and Justin Gause, children, Alexis, Jarrett Jr., and Trey Gause. Nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Jarrett was predeceased by both of his parents.
