Janis's obituary
Janis Melinda Stephens, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully, on July 23rd, 2022 with her family by her side. She was 69 years old. Janis was born on May 8th, 1953 in Denver, Colorado to Carl and Margaret Stephens. She grew up and attended schools in the Lakewood area and graduated from Alameda High school in 1971. Janis enjoyed spending her summers with her parents and best friend, Judy Pritchett, in Rosarita, Mexico. She married Steve Cline on July 23rd, 1971 in Lakewood, Colorado where they welcomed their three children, Steven, Jennifer and Courtney. They made their home in the Denver area for several years before moving to Riverton, Wyoming in 1982. She was a mother who loved her children more than anything, so she chose to be a stay-at-home mother while her children were growing up. She loved spending her time with family and friends and being outdoors. She and Steve divorced in 1994 and she moved to Denver, CO in 1999. She began attending the King Day Adult Enrichment Program in 2008 and continued to attend everyday for the past 14 years. Even when she wasn’t feeling her best, she pushed herself to attend class each day because she enjoyed being with her friends. She met Paula Brallier in November 2006 and they shared a loving relationship for the past 16 years.
Jan is survived by her three children: Steven Cline, and his wife, Janelle, of Wellington; Jennifer Pol and her husband, Brandon, of Longmont, and Courtney Cline of Lakewood. She is also survived by her partner, Paula Brallier as well as nine grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her former spouse, Steve Cline.
