Rachel, my dear friend, your grandma was truly an extraordinary woman — kind, warm, and always made me feel welcome whenever I was around. Coincidentally, I was thinking of her the morning she passed and looking at the picture she made for me last year.

Reading her bio brought tears to my eyes — what a life, what a soul.

She’ll be deeply missed and always remembered.

When I met grandma Janina I was very nervous because I had very poor English skills, but she was so kind and welcoming. She made me feel I was part of the family. Every time I visited Rachel I was very glad to also see grandma and mom. She was very special and will be missed.

Janina you are the coolest grandma I've ever met and will remember your beautiful smile and great energy.

I never knew her name was Janina because I only called her grandma. She was full of life, adventurous, made the most beautiful paintings and told the best (badass) stories.  I will definitely miss her presence and her warm welcomes every time I came over. 

I’m deeply saddened by her passing and send a lot of strength and love to her family. 

Janina was always so kind and had a smile on her face every time I saw her. She was so artistic and made the most beautiful things - I even have one of her originals, which I cherish. 

To her family, I am very sorry for your loss. She will be missed.
