Janie's obituary
With deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the passing of Janie (Brown) Ewing, on December 23, 2023. Born on March 26, 1939, Janie graced the world with her warm presence and unwavering love for her family. She lived a fruitful life filled with tender memories that will be cherished by her loved ones.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Rodney Ewing and her daughter-in-law, Spike Kahn, and the Ewing family, who will ensure that Janie's kind spirit, wisdom, and love for life continue to inspire their own lives.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Walter (Bud) Earl Ewing, her dear parents, Samuel Brown, Sr and Lillie Neldare-Brown, her daughter Wanda, and her caring sisters, Helen Walls, Marjorie (Maude) Stevenson Sellers, Claudette Burks, and brother Samuel Brown, Jr. Each of them have paved the way for Janie and they reunite once more.
She will be missed by her surviving brothers, Phil and George Brown. Their bond as siblings, teeming with shared laughter, stories, and instances of mutual support, remains an integral part of Phil's memories of his beloved sister.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the heartfelt condolences received from friends, neighbors, and well-wishers. The support and love shown to them during this time serves as a testament to the wonderful person that Janie was.
The void left by Janie's passing can never be filled. Yet, her wide-reaching influence and love will eternally resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 1 pm at Miller & Daughter Mortuary, 5905 Highway 19, Zachary, LA.
