Janie Ann's obituary

Our Mother, Janie Ann Gandy Carder went to her eternal home with our Savior, Jesus Christ on May 30, 2020. She had been a resident at Bradenton Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Bradenton, FL for 4 years.
Known by most as Jan, Mama was born in Coosa County, AL to James Lester and Evie Pamela Kelley Gandy. She married James Albert Carder and they settled in Redan, GA where she ran a beauty shop for 15 years before returning to school to become an LPN. She worked at Cardiology of Georgia in Decatur, retiring in 1999. She moved to Loganville, GA to be near family. In 2005, she became a snowbird; spending the colder months in Palmetto Mobile Home Club in Palmetto, FL. She loved being across the street from her dear friends of 67 years, Bob and Pat Buchanan.
Those she loved who have gone before are her parents and her first born child, a son. Brothers; Frank Gandy and wife Edna, Paul Gandy and wife Bernice, and Ralph Gandy and wife Irene. Her Sister; Shelvie Jean and husband Jack Beaton. A Son-in-law Rick Alford.
She is survived by her 3 daughters; Darlynn Alford of Englewood, FL, Lisa Bray and husband Steve of Winthrop, MA and Jacque Carder of Decatur, GA. Granddaughter Evie and her husband Hunter Maloy, great grandson Haddon and great granddaughter Laurie June, all of Greensboro, GA. Grandson Tom Alford and wife Aika of Wichita Falls, Texas. Also, many nieces, nephews and cousins spread throughout AL, GA, TN, FL and TX.
A Celebration of Jan's Life will be held at a later date.
As an expression of love for Mama, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse.
