Janice married Paul Busby, and together they shared 25 years of marriage. After Paul’s passing, she married Edward Silvia, with whom she spent another 25 years enjoying life by traveling in their RV until his passing. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who found joy in spending time with her family, especially her children and their families.
Janice is survived by her children, Terry (Carol), Susan, and Steve (Carol); her grandchildren, Meredith, Matthew, Jason, Drew, Anita, Sara, and Tyler; and her 14 great-grandchildren. She was a devoted matriarch whose love and guidance left an enduring mark on her family.
Janice spent her working life as a teacher and bookkeeper, roles she embraced with dedication and care. She took great pride in balancing accounts, helping others and fostering a love for learning. In her personal life, Janice was passionate about a variety of hobbies, including quilting, knitting, reading, and completing puzzles. She also had a love for gardening and spent many happy hours digging in the dirt. She was a devoted member of Christ Church in Raliegh where she spent time volunteering.
Her warmth, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Janice's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, who continue to be inspired by her example of strength, kindness, and fast driving.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Janice's July 12, 2025 at Christ Church at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
