Life Reflections
Janice Peaks was born November 19, 1961, in Batesville Mississippi. the 4th of six children. She was born to Willie' C Battle and Geneva Battle. On June 21, 2022 Janice Peaks transitioned alongside her husband Donnell Peaks to Glory. She received her early education from the St. Louis Public School system. She later moved to Atlanta Georgia with her son's Antonio Battle and Marcus Smith in 1992. After the dissolving of her first marriage, she eventually met fell in love and married her forever husband Donnell Peaks.
Janice accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a member of Word of Faith Family Worship Center in Atlanta Georgia. She worked for Johnson Ferry Baptist Church for many years. Janice was known for her hard-work and work ethic. It was not uncommon for her to work two jobs. She cherished her boys immensely and did whatever she could for them.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Preceding her in death: Both sets of grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Janice Peaks leaves to mourn: Her two sons Antonio Battle (Jennifer) and Marcus Smith.
Father: Willie' C Battle (Juanita), Mother: Geneva Battle-Loyd. Siblings: Archie Swearengen, Gloria Jackson (Edward), Barbara Smith, Charletts Battle and Angela Battle. Her grandchildren, Kiara Steel, Kaleb Catching, Prince Battle, Acacia Battle, Kassidy Battle and Natasha (Lil Tash) Battle. Nieces and Nephews: Natasha Battle-Edwards, Jamie Nicole Williams (LeQuanna), Ciara Brooks, Brandon Battle, Jovan Battle (Letricia), Corinna Ousley, Lashanda Renee Nwaoba (Kevin), Gary Brooks Jr. (Paulette), Sydney Brown and Tamia Swearengen. She also leaves to mourn her step children as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
To know Janice is to LOVE her. It deeply saddens her family that her assignment in Heaven started earlier than expected but we are truly thankful that as God's children we will see her again. A precious jewel that will never tarnish, will be forever loved, and is greatly missed.
