Janice Ellen Marc May 2, 1941- December 30, 2024 Janice was born to Frank and Rose Gilardi in San Francisco and passed away with her loving family by her side on December 30 2024 at age 83. Janice was raised in North Beach San Francisco at a time when it was an Italian community. She went to parochial grammar school graduating from Presentation High in 1959. She was always an avid reader and could write in the lost art of shorthand. Next to her creative and artfull knitting, she loved to garden. In Bonny Doon in the 70’s she had a huge tiered vegetable garden and roses! The most beautiful award winning collection of roses she tended with loving care. Cooking and baking were her forte. Many a family dinner was enjoyed at the Marc house with family and friends, everyone was always welcome, and with two growing boys her kitchen was a favorite gathering spot after school, holidays, birthdays, graduations. There were always great Italian dishes as in Sunday Gravy and handmade gnocchi , cheeses and ice cream from Dennis Marc Dairy. Janice is survived by son, Dennis Marc (Andrea), granddaughter Roselyn (Lucien), step grandchildren Chad (Kimm) and Chris Ingersoll, Son Justin Marc and granddaughter Jessica Marie, niece and nephew Amber and Zach Willis. She was pre-deceased by both parents and her beloved husband Dennis Marc. A devoted Catholic her entire life, she at one time or another, prayed in every parish of Santa Cruz County and beyond. Her services will be held at the Oblates of Saint Joseph, 544 Westcliff Drive, Santa Cruz Friday, May 9,2025 at 11:00 a.m. Reception will follow 1-3pm at DeAnza Clubhouse, 2395 Delaware.
