Janice's obituary

Janice "Jan" Jessop Kollmann, passed away at the age of 86 on September 3, 2024 at Luther memorial home in Madelia. Janice was Born on January 11, 1938 in Madelia Minnesota to Howard James Jessop and Minnie Otava (Erickson) Jessop. Janice was the last surviving sibling of 10 children. Janice was full of love, warmth, and hope.

Janice was known and loved by many, but none more so than her 5 sons, Jerry (Ellen) Dalton, Jeffery (Deb Keeler) Dalton, Jess (Glenda) Dalton, Jodi (Marla Ham) Dalton, and Jay (Rachelle) Dalton, and many grandchildren who survive her. Janice counted her family as her greatest achievement. Her legacy, however, extends far beyond her family, in the form of unending kindness and generosity.

"No phones at the dinner table", "Be patient, things will be okay", and "There is always a plan". These gentle reminders of the importance of connection, patience, and faith are testament to Janice's innate optimism and perspective for life.

A Private family burial will take place on September 13th, A memorial lunch honouring Janice's remarkable life will be held on September 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Faith Lutheran Church. It is in sharing memories, laughter, and tears, that we will keep Janice's loving spirit alive.

In place of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Janice's name to Faith Lutheran Church in Madelia.

Janice was a symbol of love and hope, her memory will echo in the lives of those she impacted. Rest in peace, dear Janice, the world is a richer place for having known you.
