Janice's obituary

Janice Gay Jenkins (Iverson), 83, passed away on August 10, 2025, in Henderson Nevada. She was born on July 25, 1942, and was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Irene Iverson.

Jan grew up in Indiana, the oldest of three siblings: Mark Iverson, Denise Rigdon (Iverson), and George Iverson. She had two daughters: Tammy Easterday and Tina Edmunds (Krinhop); had three grandchildren: Jason, Reno, and Jordan; and several great-grandchildren.

Jan graduated from Paoli High School and went on to earn a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music (a Flutist) from Indiana State University. She started her career-life in music as the Choir Director of Franklin High School, and then became the Band Director of Martinsville Junior High School (Indiana). Jan later made a big change in career to become a Pharmaceutical Sales Consultant, in which she saw many years of success. She was a natural in sales with her vibrant personality (those who knew her will certainly remember her as bubbly) and her dedication to being an expert on her product. Outside of career, Jan had an artistic eye and a creative spirit. She especially enjoyed making jewelry, but was excellent at any creative endeavor she pursued.

Jan (ironically) stood out in a crowd because her height was just under 5 foot tall. She used to laugh at the memory of still getting offered lollipops at the grocery store up until her 30s because of her tiny stature. She also adored the pets in her life, which included several dogs and a parrot. Jan moved around a bit: she grew up in Indiana; and as an adult lived in Florida, Texas, and Nevada.

Jan is survived and missed by her daughters, Tammy and Tina; her brothers, Mark and George; and her grandchildren, Jason and Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Irene; her sister, Denise; and her grandson, Reno.

Jan’s daughters, Tammy and Tina, invite you to share your memories or thoughts.
