Jan and I worked together at Rea Elementary for over 10 years. We even shared a classroom when we taught English to students needing extra time during the school day acquiring their new language. It was during these years when I learned Jan’s deep connection with her family. She spent most of the day sharing Allison’s success at Mater Day. Then she was off to Loyola Mary mount. Also, lots of sharing about Allison’s cool job as a food critic. JAN LOVED HER FAMILY! I am fortunate that Jan was a part of my life! I loved teasing her and calling her Janice:)

Ever since I first met Mike when we started working together back in the day, I quickly came to appreciate the magic that was Jan. The beautiful family they built together says it all. Rest in peace, Jan. Sending love always to Mike and the whole clan. ❤️

Jan was my sister-in-law. My wife, Maryann Hecht, and I first met Jan shortly after she met her husband, Michael Hecht.
Jan was beautiful inside and out! I loved spending time with her; I especially enjoyed her quick wit and absolutely wicked sense of humor! She was a blast to be with and always very entertaining!
I’m glad that Maryann and I were able to have dinner with Jan and Michael at their house on St. Patrick’s Day 2023. Jan was as beautiful as ever.
I will miss my chats and visits with Jan at Hecht Family gatherings. I, however, know in my heart that I will laugh again with her.
My deepest condolences to Michael and Allison during this difficult time.
Much love always,
Ken

We are so fortunate to have had Jan in our lives and by extension Michael, Allison and their families. She was kind, thoughtful and had a wonderful sense of humor. We have needlepoint Christmas ornaments she made, and they are on our tree each year and will continue to remind us of her creativity and accomplishments--both personally and professionally. We send profound condolences to Michael who took exceptional care of her during her years with Alzheimer's and to all who loved her. Jeff and Kathleen Schlom
