Jani's obituary

Jani Ituha Valdovinos was born in Fontana, Ca and grew up with her mother Sharon and sister Alycia in southern California which is where she would stay for most of her life. In 2005 Jani  (along with her three children, McArthur, Isabella, and Emilio, her mother Sharon and her husband Daniel) decided to take a leap of faith and move to Nashville, TN to pursue a career in country music. While in Tennessee, Jani raised her children, wrote songs and played in various honkytonks and music venues in Nashville while networking and making friends in the business.

She wrote songs about her childhood memories and the things she loved, including a song titled "old tin tub" which was an ode to an actual tin tub she use to bathe in at her grandparents cabin near Idyllwild, CA. She took much pride in the kitchen where she concocted and perfected many of her own recipes, that would become staples that many of her family members would come to anticipate enjoying either on a regular day or around the holidays. Jani loved the holidays! She loved to dance around the kitchen with a spatula in her hand, singing The Judds Christmas album as loud as she could. Dolly Parton's "Hard Candy Christmas" was also a favorite of hers and she took much pleasure from decorating every inch of the house to match her merry Christmas mood.

She was a bright and vibrant woman who spread joy through her smile, laughter and affectionate personality. Jani loved expressing herself and her love for her family. Whether it be through a meal or writing a song, she had a way of finding her way to your heart. In our hearts she will stay as well as the arms of her loving savior Jesus.
