Janette's obituary
- Our most Beautiful, Beloved, Precious Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Best Friend; Janette Blaha-Huls entered into Eternal Life with Jesus on August 01, 2022 .
Janette was affectionately named G-MA by her oldest grandchild (Danny) & his friends! The name stuck and everyone started calling her G-MA!
She loved that! 💕
Janette was very kind hearted, always putting the needs of others above her own, and was often sought out for her unwavering faith, prayer, support, and encouragement. She worked very hard and sacrificed so much for her family and friends. She had such an incredible passion for learning, and you could often find her studying and she always took such detailed, meticulous, notes!
Janette especially loved to study the Bible, and so loved to BLESS people with special encouraging words, and scriptures, that were personal, just for them! She had the mindset to strive for excellence (against all odds) in everything that she did!
Janette was born on September 05, 1936 , in Michigan, and has now joined her parent’s Dales and Marjorie Yettaw in Heaven! Janette was the oldest of six children and was predeceased by all of her siblings; her brother Jim and two sets of twins ; Jerry/Janice and Jack/Joyce.
Janette was born during the Great Depression, and while her parents were busy struggling to put food on the table, Janette had to grow up fast, and sacrificed her own childhood, to take on the great responsibility of caring for her younger brothers and sisters. That was no easy task with two sets of twins! They looked up to Janette, like she was their 2nd mom! She loved and adored them!
Janette married James W. Blaha, Sr (Kathy). After the birth of her daughter Jodi Blaha, of East Jordan, Mi, she felt the strong need to leave their small town in order to escape the poverty, and lack of opportunities. It was the mid 1950’s when they set out for California, along the legendary Route 66! They had very little money, an old car that kept breaking down, a small child, and another baby on the way. They finally arrived in San Diego. Sadly, Janette had lost the baby she was carrying, but what a glorious reunion they are now having in Heaven!
While in San Diego, Janette had another daughter; Roberta “Bobbie” Baker (David), of Merced, Ca. She would tell the story about how the old car broke down when she was in labor, and dad had to push the car uphill to get us to the hospital! Thankfully, we made it just in time!
Dad got a job at Aerojet and the family moved to Sacramento. Janette had two sons; James W. Blaha Jr, of East Jordan, Mi, and Donald Blaha (A.T) of Clearlake Oaks, Ca. During this time Janette remarkedly managed our little trailer with four small children! She sewed all our clothes from McCall’s patterns & seemed to always have a hairbrush in her hand, and ran around cleaning us up! She also managed the trailer park that we lived in. This was not a very glamorous job, as she had to clean the restrooms in the park, and collect rent, with four small children tagging along, and their red flyer wagon!
Janette’s early life was rough, but through those hard times she felt God had used all of it to build in her perseverance, and strong character! Janette’s courage was inspirational, and her grandchildren would often say;
“ Gma sure is one Tough cookie”!
The family eventually moved to Santa Clara and Janette was offered a job as a Secretary for United Technologies Corp an early Silicon Valley (Aerospace) company.
After years of determination, self taught microwave and other telecommunication systems, along with a series of innovative cost reductions, awards, and God’s divine hand on her life, Janette was promoted to Supervisor, and eventually went on to become “Chief” Executive Officer of Telecommunications. During her career she traveled extensively to Cape Canaveral, UTC Headquarters in Conneticut, and various rocket test sites, many located in top secret clearance locations. While at these sites, Janette oversaw the design and installation of satellites and other communication systems involved in the great Titan and other rocket launches, while our dad worked on the design and engineering of the rocket boosters! Janette was thrilled to be a part of the work involved in the Space Age Era! It was such an exciting time for our family!
During that same time, Janette challenged herself even further and pursued her lifelong dream of flying. She obtained her pilot’s license and really loved flying the Cessna airplanes.
Janette retired after (34) years with United Technologies, and was able to focus on her great love of serving God, in the ministry. In 2001, she moved to Merced, down the street from her daughter, son in law & grandsons, and became Co-Director for the International Healing Rooms of Merced. She loved that her family was able to serve with her as intercessors in prayer, and within the ministry teams.
Janette prayed and helped meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of many people at various churches located in the community, and the surrounding areas.
The ministry received many Amazing testimonials of God’s answers to these prayers!
In March of 2009 Janette moved to the nearby town of Chowchilla, where she loved to garden, and delighted in watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren BBQ, and fish in the pond located at the back of her house!
In mid June 2022, Janette was relocated to Clearlake Oaks, and shortly thereafter, her address changed ETERNALLY, to Heaven!
Janette is survived by her four children.
Janette is survived by her grandchildren; Danny Carter (Heather), Michael Podielski, Joseph Blaha, Joshua Blaha, Elijah Podielski, Sonia Blaha Knacksteadt (Justin), Sasha Blaha, and James Blaha, III.
Janette is also survived by her great grandchildren: Kaelyn; Jack; Emmy; Logan; Aiden; and Cael.
Janette is also survived by her fur baby (Nataisha)! She adored her little spunky “Pink Bows”!
Janette thought the world of all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren & her fur babies (Casey 1, Sabrina, Zoey, Casey 2, & Nataisha)! She was so devoted to her family, and was our best cheerleader!
Our heart aches for her loss. We miss her dearly.
