Janet Marie Ketring, age 84, passed away under hospice care at her Swanton home on October 25, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 11, 1939, one of four children to the late William and Velda (Wheating) Ketring. Janet was a graduate of Swanton High School. Before retiring, she would spend 35 years with the UAW Local #12 as a press operator at Riechert Stamping. Janet enjoyed caring for her own lawn all the way up until physical illness prevented it. She was an avid crafter, enjoyed making cards, and spent many hours scrapbooking. Janet enjoyed her family; especially family meals. Sunday dinners at Janet’s house were always filled with laughter, conversation, love, and Janet’s delicious home-cooked meals. Janet was cared for in her final months by her loving granddaughter, Samantha. Janet is survived by her two sons, Kevin Ketring of Swanton and Scott Ketring of Delta; grandchildren, Keri (Kevin) Black, Kelli (Aaron) Gunn, Ashley (Dalton) Emahiser, Kyle (Yasmine) Ketring and Samantha Ketring and 6 great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Janet is also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, William and Donald Ketring. A celebration of life service for Janet will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.
