Her laugh, wit, sarcasm, fun thoughts and positive attitude made Janet the person to be around, She was kind, generous, and loved her friends and family. What made her different was she had all those attributes and had a fighting nture that was unmatachable. If she decided to do something, there was no stopping her.
When she decided to go visit her family in Africa and Buddy had no interest in going to Africa, Janet pretty much said, "I love Buddy, but I'm going," And she went. I loved that independent nature of her's!
When she had Breast Cancer and was really struggling, she prepared herself for the Susan Koman cancer awareness fundraiser. She walked several miles and raised a lot of money for cancer research. Others were in awe of her tenacity as was I. She constantly motivated me to keep on keeping on and to enjoy each and every day!
I loved my dear friend and miss her.

I just had fun being around Janet. In spite of our battle with cancer, we always found something to make us laugh. I remember the gatherings at their house and our house with friends. We would prepare food, drinks, and think of ways to get everyone that was going to attend, involved in the evening.
I remember one year we were going to have a New Year's Eve party at our house. Janet helped me contact everyone and we sorta organized the snacks. I cooked black eyed peas and cornbread. We were concerned if everyone would enjoy everything. Our son in law had given Keith a full sized movie pop corn popper for Christmas. So, I decided it would be fun to have pop corn sacks and pop the popcorn and everyone could just scoop up a bag of the popcorn if they wanted it. So I popped away with Janet encouraging me during every pop.
So here come everyone to the party with their snacks. Janet and I put all the food out and at the end of the evening everyone had eaten popcorn and the other snacks were still sitting on the table.
We vowed from that time on, we would pop popcorn and not spend hours making other things. We realized people really do appreciate the simple things in life.
We also laughed a lot when we would put on our t shirts and join the cancer walks. I do have to admit that we both spent a lot of time hunting stuff (keys, purses, etc.). I often think, as I look at my purse that my son put this "find" thing on, that Janet would be giggling because I haven't figured out how to use the gadget he put on my purse to help me find it!
I could write forever about Janet but most of all I always admired her because she was so brave, determined, and willing to help others. I loved Janet and feel honored that we were friends.

Family Thanksgiving dinner — with Janet Holland
Dearest friend, you will be missed! Who will I exchange grandkid stories with? Rest in peace! 💜
Janet was a wonderful friend.  The impact she had on my life is immeasurable.  We both had breast cancer and together we walked, supported and laughed.  When I was ill, had surgery, or was just down, I could count on Janet to walk through the door with a meal, a smile, and encouragement.  Janet got me involved in Bible Study Fellowship for which I will always be grateful. She talked me into taking her homebound students when she was no longer able to make those visits. Most of all Janet was a devoted friend.  I feel blessed for having known her.
Janet was a prayer warrior for my mom (who she didn’t even know personally)  when she was battling cancer. She asked about her all the time. She was such an inspiration to me  in how she loved people.
Janet was the best sister I could have asked for. She always listened, was there if I needed her and was there before I asked her anything. She and Buddy raised two wonderful sons. Their smart, loving, giving, Christ in their lives, great fathers and husbands. They are so much fun to be with. You can’t say enough how much she has touched her Grandchildren’s lives. Janet made sure Jeff’s kids got to their Dr appointments, sports functions, drama programs. She was always available. In spite of all her health problems, she made herself present for her family. Janet was a teacher until she retired and she still continued to help take care of babies while helping the mothers of these babies with their homework so they could get their diploma.  Janet kept a beautiful home and Buddy had a real green thumb for yardcare.  I could go on and on about how she helped others but that’s what Buddy and Janet were about. She will so be missed but always in my heart and thoughts. Love you, my big Sister, ( of six months) ha   Pam xoxoxo
Janet was a friend and sister-in-Christ.  She continued to check on those going through cancer even when she didn’t feel good.  She was an encourager and will be greatly midded.
I am so sorry to hear of Janet's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing her and Buddy through their work with the Denison ISD. I send my condolences to Buddy and the family.
I truly will miss my sister-n-law, Janet. I enjoyed being around Janet & Buddy, Her brother John loved his sister very much,he would tell me about their child hood. She was so proud of her son's and their wives and grandchildren. So sorry for your loss.
Our hearts are crying for Jeff and the whole family. In your grief, may the Lord hold you tight. In your tears, please know that others who can't be there are crying with you.
