Janet's obituary
Janet Terri (Harman) Nalley, loving mother, grandmother (Nana), sister, aunt and friend, passed away on December 25, 2024 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on November 4, 1962, Janet filled her life with acts of kindness, laughter, fun and immeasurable love for her family. She selflessly and joyfully dedicated her time to the care and nurture of her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her heartwarming meals that brought the family together, her fondness for the beach, her determination and an unwavering spirit that always put others before herself.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Megan and Jami Nalley, her sisters Robin Atwood and Vicki Crisostomo, and her brothers Jason and Adam Woodrow. She was predeceased by her loving mother, Maxine Crigger, and her cherished daughter, Heather Townley. The bond Janet shared with her family and friends was strong and affirming, a testament to her loving character. Janet's memory will live on not just in the hearts of her children, grandchildren and siblings, but also in the many friends she left behind and in the tremendous gift she left the medical research community.
Known for her caring personality, Janet constantly uplifted those around her. Her ability to forgive was an enduring testament to her empathetic nature. Among her greatest accomplishments was the deep and unconditional love she harbored for her family; it fueled her life's actions and decisions.
Janet's legacy extends beyond her life. In a final act of compassion, she donated her body to science, symbolizing a beacon of hope for those battling the unknown. Her tenacity and kindness were indeed unmatched, and she will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
We honor Janet Terri (Harman) Nalley, a woman whose love knew no bounds, whose grace touched all and whose life gave us lessons of determination, love, forgiveness and selflessness. She left us physically, but her spirit lingers in the lives she touched, in the love she shared and in the hope she created.
