Janelle Nicole Gibson, beloved mother, aunt, sister, and daughter; passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, at the age of 39. She was born and raised in St. Bernard, Louisiana as the youngest of five siblings. Janelle attended Sebastian Roy Elementary and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, where she made many lifelong friends. Janelle began her career as a Neuro Tech and later a Retinal Ophthalmology Tech, with many thanks to the doctors who mentored her along the way. Janelle is survived by her only daughter Kaylee Nguyen, parents Jimmie and Lauren Gibson, siblings Jimmie Gibson, Jamie Gibson(Dennis), Jennifer Gibson, and Julie Tyner(Alfred), and her nieces and nephews Blake Navarro, Johnny Schneider, Shelby Schneider, Eli Schneider, and Valarie Tyner.

Janelle was loved and adored by everyone she met. She was always so fun-loving, outgoing, and friendly; never meeting a stranger. Her charismatic personality and bigger-than-life presence will be forever missed. Family and friends are welcome to join us in celebration of Janelle’s life at Poydras Baptist Church, 8213 Saro Lane, St. Bernard. The memorial and service will be on August 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM– 12:00 PM.
