Jane's obituary

On April 13, 2019, Jane “Ellen” Taylor, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away surrounded by her family.
Jane “Ellen” was born on April 23, 1969, in Manassas, VA, to Jane Stewart and Howard Hogan. She was raised in Manassas and attended Manassas Park Public schools. Jane “Ellen” was a star athlete throughout high school, playing multiple sports.
Jane “Ellen” was always dedicated and proud of the jobs she held. She was, most recently, a part of the Prince William County Police department, as a Police Services Technician. She worked in and with Prince William County for over two decades. Jane “Ellen” was also a beloved member of the Girl Scout community. She was admired and loved by all the troop girls, troop leaders and others throughout the Girl Scout community.
From a very young age, Jane “Ellen” developed a deep love for the racetrack. She enjoyed cheering her dad on at his races. Jane “Ellen” is known for her love of outdoor activities, including spending time at Virginia Beach, trail walks, taking pictures of the clouds, sunrises and sunsets. She took joy in making s’mores in her backyard fire pit for her nieces and nephews. She also loved anything having to do with the kitchen: cooking, baking, new cookware and gadgets from QVC.
The Girl Scout community was a very special part of her life. Jane “Ellen” shared the love of girl scouts with her daughters Lindsey and Sara, both as a supportive parent and later as a troop leader. Her dedication to the Girl Scout community was something she cherished for over 15 years. She took pride in travelling for troop outings, teaching archery, planning and attending camps, and participating in the Greater Manassas Christmas Parade.
Jane “Ellen” is survived by her loving husband, Robert Taylor Sr., three children: Lindsey, Robert Jr. and Sara. She is also survived by her parents Jane Stewart (Curtis) and Howard Hogan (Patricia); 7 brothers: Curtis Stewart Jr., Scottie Hogan, Skip Hogan, Christopher Hogan, Franklin Hogan, Patrick Hogan, and Joseph Stewart; 3 sisters: Talande Smith, Kristin Stewart, and Tameco Jackson; also survived by her devoted dog, Maxamillion. Jane “Ellen” also leaves behind several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and more friends than you could ever imagine.
