Mrs. Jane D. Tait, age 84, passed away on March 19, 2024 at Willis-Knighton Medical Center after a short illness. She was born Betty Jane Davis in Fayetteville, TN on October 14, 1939. Her father was Luther Davis and her mother was Anne B. Davis (Winford). Jane graduated from Fayetteville Central High School with the Class of 1957.

She married Forrest A. Winkler, of Taft, TN and moved to Huntsville, AL. Jane and Forrest had two sons; Daryl Stanley (Stan) Winkler and Jonathan (Jon) Wayne Winkler. Her husband, Forrest, passed away in 1975.

In 1978 Jane married Arthur Tait, of Shreveport, LA and moved to Shreveport, where she lived until her death this past March. Arthur passed away in 2012. During their marriage, Jane and Arthur enjoyed travelling, entertaining friends and relatives in Shreveport and New Orleans and owning several successful businesses.

Jane was well-travelled, a quick-wit and the life of the party – a pleasure to be around. She enjoyed a good book and her daily crossword puzzles.

Jane is survived by her oldest son, Stan Winkler; her grandson, Sean Winkler; granddaughter, Noelle Winkler; stepdaughter, Debbie Prakop (Tait); six step-grandchildren and two brothers, Wayne and Mike.

Jane will be missed by us all.
