Jane's obituary
Jane Dale Ryan, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on September 9, 2025, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 56.
Born on December 13, 1968, in Broward County, Florida, Jane went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, where she also met the love of her life, Bruce Ryan. Together, they built a life full of laughter, love, and adventure, raising two daughters, Cheryl and Carley.
For over 19 years, Jane was a dedicated and respected member of the Concannon Lumber Company team. Her work ethic, loyalty, and integrity left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the business she helped shape.
Jane lived a vibrant and full life. She found joy in golfing, traveling, solving puzzles, and cheering for the Portland Timbers. She had a well-known love for purses and shoes, and cherished attending live music events with her friends. But above all, she treasured time with her family. Her warmth, generosity, and boundless compassion made her a light in the lives of those who knew her. Her playful spirit, kindness, and unwavering support were the foundation of her relationships and the heart of her home.
She is survived by her daughters, Carley Ryan and Cheryl Scollo; her father, Robert Marks; and her brother, Steven Marks. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bruce Ryan II, and her mother, Linda Marks.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held on Thursday, September 26, from 4–7 PM at Providence Park in Portland. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and share memories of her remarkable life.
Jane will be deeply missed, but her spirit — generous, silly, loving, and strong — will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
