Jane's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Jane Breidung, who left us peacefully on March 14, 2026, born on January 3, 1956. Jane was a woman of sterling qualities; smart, creative, artistic, and loyal with an unforgettable sense of humor. Her joyous and vibrant personality will be terribly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jane is survived by her adored children; daughters Roxanne Breidung and Laura Cleland, and son Jeremiah Breidung. Her memory will live on in her beloved grandchildren Wesley Roberts, Dominic Garland, Ella Manglos, Preston Cleland and Makiah and Bella Cleland. She also leaves behind her dear brothers Tom, Rich and John Wagner, and her sister, Dixie Giem.
She was predeceased by her parents, Emil and Marlene Wagner, her sisters, Jerry and Mary Wagner, her cherished husband, Steven Breidung and her son Joshua Breidung. Jane's strength in dealing with these losses was a testament to her unwavering spirit and resilience.
Jane was a woman of many interests; she found joy in fishing and hunting, cultivated her creative side through painting, and spent many contented hours watching TV. Above all, she loved music, particularly the works of Rush, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and Heart.
Among the lessons Jane shared throughout her lifetime, the most impactful was the importance of laughter. It was her firm belief that even in the face of adversity, it was vital to find reasons to smile and laugh. Her legacy—the ability to laugh during times when it seemed impossible—will resonate with her loved ones for all eternity.
Jane had a deep and personal love for her Creator, which remained close to her heart throughout her life . A scripture she held dear, Psalm 1:3, reflects the peaceful and faithful life she strived to live: “He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, a tree that produces fruit in its season, the foliage of which does not wither, and everything he does will succeed”.
A Celebration of life for Jane will be held on April 18, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Nelson Community Hall. Her family and friends will gather to remember, grieve, and honour the life of a woman who touched so many hearts, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she encountered. She will be deeply missed.
