Jane's obituary
Jane Ellen Harrison Bedford, 79, of Flower Mound, TX, passed away on February 27, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Jane was born on October 12, 1942 in Rittman, OH to Ernest and Helen Harrison. After graduating from high school in Nashville, TN, she went to Centre College in Kentucky and received her degree in library science. She met her husband, George Bedford, on a blind date on Jekyll Island, GA. They married in 1964, settled in Texas, and had two children, Pam and Mark. She dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother and wife. Jane excelled at supporting her family through the many passions of their lives. Whether that was moving many times to follow George's career or volunteering with Girl/Boy Scouts, band parents and church, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others. In addition to her family, Jane loved her church, angels, and cats. We will miss her greatly.
Jane was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, George Bedford, her children Pam (Kevin) Bryant of Flower Mound, TX and Mark (Beth Hamilton) Bedford of Sioux City, IA, her grandchildren Reagan Bryant, Ben Bryant, Christina (Everick Knox) Bedford, step-granddaughter Sloane Smith, and her sister Ann Campbell of Tampa, FL, and many other family and friends.
She chose many years ago to donate her body to science. We hope this will help find a cure for the terrible disease of Alzheimer's. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to express sympathy consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association.
There will be a celebration of life at Flower Mound United Methodist Church on May 21, 2022 at 11:00 am. She loved bright colors, so we plan to dress that way for her service.
