Jane Ades Obituary
Phyllis Jane Ades, 61, of Batavia, died at 6:30 a.m. April 6, 2024 at her home.
She was born June 16, 1962 in Vinton to Chet and Pauline Phyllis Lovell Hobbs. Growing up on a farm near Vinton, Jane married Michael Wayne Ades on December 30, 1978.
Moving with her husband’s work, Jane focused on raising their family while they lived in Cresco, Mason City, Marshalltown and Red Oak before moving to Batavia in 1992 when her husband was transferred to Fareway in Ottumwa. She greatly enjoyed working as a home health care provider and had also worked for Tom and Roseanne’s Big Food Diner in Eldon.
Jane loved animals, especially her dogs, but most importantly loved her family.
Surviving is her husband, Mike; their children, Jeannie Ades of Ottumwa and Wayne Ades of Fairfield; son-in-law, Davey Richardson; 3 grandchildren, Bria Richardson, Andrew Richardson and Malakai Ades; 2 brothers, Greg “Dutch” Hobbs and David “Bud” Hobbs both of Vinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her body has been cremated. A time to celebrate her life may be held at a future date. Memorials may be made to the family.
