Jan Phillip Derion, affectionately known as “Papa”, entered into rest on September 19, 2023, in Shreveport, LA, at the age of 81.

Loving husband of Dorothy Derion; dear father of Jeffrey (Tammy) Derion, Dawn (Chuck) Fieramusca, David (Deborah) Derion, Sherri (Barry) Hornsby and Kimberly Derion; beloved grandfather of Jonathan McKeel, Michael Derion, David (Jennifer) Derion, Marissa Derion, Brandon (Tess) Derion, Kelsey (Michael) Belluz, Joshua Littrell, Ethan Youngs, Ryan Littrell, Ryan Derion (dec.), Elianna Derion, Ava Hornsby, Zoe Hornsby, Rosalia Fieramusca, Sofia Fieramusca; and great-grandfather of Olivia Paxson, Cora Derion, and Sonny Favorite.

Jan was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Norman and Lillian Derion on July 26, 1942. He was a trade printer for over 40 years but is best remembered by friends and family as a “jack of all trades”.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at Broadmoor Baptist Church Parlor located at 4110 Youree Drive, Shreveport, LA on September 21st from 4:30-7:30pm.
