Jamie's obituary
Jamie Smith was called home to the Lord on November 11, 2022 at the age of 24.
She was born on January 29, 1998 to Jimmy and Heather Smith. She became a big sister to Sarah in 2001. She attended Holland Woods Middle School and Landmark Academy. She graduated from Port Huron Northen in 2016.
Being of service to others was incredibly important to Jamie. She was always finding ways to help others and make their day a little easier, a little better. She did this personally with many friends and acquaintances and in her work. Jamie worked with the FAN (Families Against Narcotics) program as a Peer Recovery Coach and as a speaker. She worked with the Sterling Heights Police Department as part of the ComeBack Quick Response Team. She also worked at Freighters, Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse and Maggiano’s Little Italy.
June 15, 2020 was the absolute best day of her life. This is the day her son, Thomas, was born. She was such a fun loving and completely head over heels adoring mother. Spending time with Thomas was her favorite thing to do by far.
We are devastated by this loss and will feel the absence of Jamie forever. She was the sweetest, kindest, most loving soul and a joy to be around. She could light up a room and always made sure to share her light with all. She will be forever missed.
Survived by her parents, Jimmy and Heather Smith; sister, Sarah; son, Thomas; grandfathers, Rick Hrigora, Jim Smith and Tim Grondin; uncle, Rick Hrigora and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her Nana, Susie Grondin and her Grandma, Janet Hrigora; great grandparents Ed and Lee Hrigora and great grandmother Barbara Fairfield.
Reception to take place at the Fraternal Order of Eagles on January 28, 2023 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. It is located at 2645 Howard St. Port Huron, MI.
