It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jamie Brudos, who was born on September 18, 1955, and passed away on May 14, 2024. Jamie lived a life full of warmth, humor, and generosity, touching the hearts of everyone she met along her journey.
Jamie was a woman of immense talent and intellectual prowess. After earning her B.A. and M.A. in Fine Arts with a focus on Dance from The University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM in 1979 and 1984 respectively, she furthered her education with an M.A. in English / Education, from New Mexico Highlands University, Rio Rancho, NM in 1998.
As a lover of art in all its forms, Jamie had a particular fondness for dance, live music, and paintings. Jamie's love for the arts was only surpassed by her love for her family and friends.
Jamie is survived by her daughters, Lylah and Gretta Brudos, and her niece, Jessica Weed. She welcomed her cherished children into the world on November 3, 1992, and on April 27, 1994. Her love and devotion to her family will be remembered fondly, and the strength of their bond will endure.
Those who knew Jamie will remember her distinctive personality, fondly recalling her as funny, warm, generous, kind, and understanding. She firmly believed in the values of kindness, compassion, and conscientious living, often reminding others to 'vote for the important things with your dollar.'. This philosophy was the testament of her wisdom and love for others.
Jamie leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity. Her spirit, her laughter, and her teachings will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to the saying that a life lived for others is a life well-lived. Let us honor Jamie's memory by embodying the love, generosity, and compassion she shared with us all.
