It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jamie Barber, who took her last breath at 1:23 AM on September 30, 2024. Born on January 27, 1958, Jamie lived a life rich with love, laughter, and the genuine care for others. She was known for her kind, sweet, and loving nature. Her funny charm and propensity for wild storytelling will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Jamie is survived by her children, Brian Barber, Amy Barber and Angelica Smith. Their love for Jamie was evident in every interaction they had with her. Jamie was prime example of unwavering kindness.

Jamie had a strong affinity for the color black, reflecting her elegantly simple and subtle personality. She truly savored the pleasures of life, appreciating good food and drink. She had a penchant for Northwoods Inn, Shakey's Pizza, and Cheese Enchiladas, and was known to enjoy a cold Bud Light. Jamie was a fan of the Dodgers, and watching their games was one of her favorite pastimes. A true homebody at heart, she cherished relaxing at home.

Her love for music was vast and eclectic, with her favorites ranging from the heavy guitars of Metallica to the rhythmic beats of Snoop Dogg. Her appreciation for different genres of music signified her open-mindedness and lively spirit.

Jamie was an advocate for Cancer research, wanting to support to the cause, her children have donated her body to science care.  The medical researchers and educators who help to improve the quality of life for all of us. The gift of body donation allowed medical researchers and educators to practice, learn, and create new techniques that continue to improve and save lives. We believe mom would have wanted to help any way she could. 

Her departure has left a void in our lives that cannot be filled. However, we celebrate her life and know that her legacy will continue to inspire us for generations to come.
