James Henry Workman, of Easley, entered into Heaven’s gates on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the age of 76. Jim was born August 1, 1945 to Henry and Jean (Hucks) Workman in Woodruff, SC. He graduated from Clemson University in 1967. Jim retired from the US Air Force as a B-52 command pilot after a twenty year career with a rank of Lt Colonel. He served his country with three tours in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, he pursued a new mission with Boeing as a C-17 flight simulator instructor for next twenty years. Jim’s experience in the military played a very important role in his life. He frequently pointed out that the Air Force taught him the value of discipline, teamwork, and investing in a cause larger than himself. Jim was an avid fisherman and always cheered on his beloved Clemson Tigers. Everyone that spent time with Jim felt his passion for life and the love he had for his family. He is survived by his wife, Diana, and her children Aaron Muse and Ashley (Jonathon) Bate; his first wife Linda, and their two children Ashley (Darren) Thomasand Marc (Allison) Workman; seven grandchildren Lucas Workman, Samuel Workman, Emma Workman, Jackson Thomas, Chloe Thomas, Alexis Thomas, and Eliana Bate; and sister Merry Cockerill of Mundelein, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Joe Workman. Memorial services for James Workman will be held Saturday, August 28, at the family home. Burial will follow at a later date at Old Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Woodruff,SC.
