Jim lived with us when he was in high school (I am Jay Hartstern's younger sister).  Other than having the "little sister has a crush on older brother's friends", ultimately, Jim was like a brother to me, right down to the never-ending teasing (He ruined my 10th birthday, but we continued to laugh about it throughout the years.  Him joking I still wasn't over it!).  He'd steal the tv clicker and other brotherly annoying shenanigans!

Jim would continuously sing Climax Blues Bands "I Love You" and when I'd hear it on the radio in the years to follow, memories rush back, and I'd always reach out with a "Hello" and vice versa.  The words to this song have no sentimental value between us but just a great song we shared and thought of each other with. Needless to say, I've listened to it on demand often the last few weeks.

I am grateful we kept in contact throughout our adult life.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences, Winn family.

Jim, I am so sad I will not see you again in this lifetime.  I miss you and I love you!

So sorry for your loss. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. Jim was a larger than life positive influence for me, epic adventures together at THD and TTI. RIP dear friend. Mark and Susin Hartman

My condolences to Jim’s family and friends. I met and was lucky to call Jim a friend in high school. We were in a band together “Dress Code” where he and I spent a good deal of time with our other band mates practicing in a basement. Jim was a great drummer but an even better person. I treasure the memories I have of his friendship even if it was many years ago. Rest in peace Jim
Jimmer was the best! Kind hearted man. Met him in junior high and stayed friends through high school and beyond. My condolences to you all!
I am at a loss for words.... my condolences to the Winn family..... Jim, you'll always be my brother!!! Until we meet again
