I just learned of Jim's death. I am so, so sorry for your loss. Jim and I dated in college. We met at a dorm party in Teter in, I believe, 1979. He was dazzling smart and funny and I was always enthralled. We saw each other off and on for several years and he always had a tug on my heart. But, the last time we were in touch was sometime in the mid-90s and we lost track of each other after that. I am so saddened to hear of his death. But, I hope memories can help you through your grief.
Thunderstruck to hear of Jim's passing just today. Jim was a mentor, coworker, roommate and dear, dear friend. Though we had fallen out of touch, the occasional un-looked for phone call every year or two was always a smile, as are all of my memories of the time we spent together. It's been a LONG time, Nicholas, but you and your dad are on my mind today...
My deepest sympathy. Since I met him in high school, Jim was a lot of fun, especially at Madison. I always enjoyed talking history with him. He will be deeply missed.
