James W Petty was born June 28, 1960, and passed away on June 22, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones, and caregivers from Altoona Nursing and Rehab.

James was predeceased in death by his father Robert T. Petty, father in-law James D. Malpass, nephews Heath Bolden and Colton Malpass-Keys. He is survived by his wife Donna J Petty, children Amanda Pack (Buddy) of Ga. and Patrick Petty of Ala., mother Sharon M Petty and siblings Robert Petty (Marilyn), Ginger Blake, and Tracie Kirchner all from Ala.
James and Donna were married for 26 years and lived in the Locust Fork/Cleveland area for 20 years until James went to live at Altoona Nursing and Rehab. James was diagnosed in 1994 with Multiple Sclerosis. The staff and director Linda Bigelow gave James help, kindness and friendship.
James thought he was funny, and sometimes he was. He loved Alabama Football even though his wife, Donna is a big Auburn fan, he loved her anyway. He loved classic rock music, the color purple, and his word finds. Nascar was and always will be his first love.
