James's obituary
James Michael Tozser, 66, passed away on March 11, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born on August 17, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, to Frank Robert Tozser, Sr. and Lucille Theresa (Corio) Tozser.
A gifted student, James graduated as valedictorian from Dearborn Heights High School in 1974 at just 16 years old. He pursued his passion for engineering at the University of Michigan College of Engineering, earning a Doctorate in Nuclear Engineering in 1980. His career as a nuclear engineering consultant took him across the country.
James shared an unbreakable bond with his brother Frank, who passed away just four days after him. To Frank’s children—Tony, Michelle, and Michael—he was more than an uncle; he was a second father. His generosity extended beyond family to his friends and community, particularly in Gaylord, Michigan, where he cherished the cabin their father built.
A devout man of faith, James was deeply committed to his relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a regular parishioner at St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord and an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
James had a brilliant mind yet carried himself with humility and warmth. His contagious belly laugh brought joy to those around him. James was a hunter, a talented cook, and a die-hard Michigan Wolverines fan. He was "The one to watch."
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Cathedral, 606 N. Ohio Avenue, Gaylord, MI 49735.
James' family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support shown during this difficult time of both his and Frank’s passing.
