We lost a truly unique and special man. Jim Thomas was a Godfather to Rick and a special Uncle to the Mouwen family. We have so many cherished memories of Jim and Sally and their many thoughtful get togethers and family gatherings. Whether it be "cheesy gift giveaways" at Christmas, sporting events, golf outings, Super Bowl parties, family birthdays and barbecues, graduations, art shows, museums, theater, or just enjoying a home cooked meal, Jim and Sally always warmed your heart and made you smile. Jim loved to engage you in conversation to get up to speed on the latest, and he was truly proud of his family's accomplishments. We loved his smile and infectious laugh. He was a straight shooter who didn't tolerate nonsense. We'll never forget Jim's unique style of leaving at the end of a party. He would announce that it was time to go home, and that meant now. His goodbyes were brief, and if you came with Jim to the party, you had better be in his car already! We chuckle at the memory of his car leaving Eleanor's house with family members hurriedly jumping in their seats yelling their goodbyes as doors were swinging closed.

We take comfort knowing that Jim is reunited with his loved ones and they are all rejoicing in the presence of our Lord. We express our sincerest condolences to Kelly and Peter and the entire Thomas and Larrabee families. We love you, Uncle Jim!
That beautiful smile Uncle Jim has and the amazing person behind it will forever be in my memory. I know my Dad was always proud of his younger brother and I'm sure they are together now talking over old times. I so appreciated him keeping in touch with me with our e-mails. I believe Uncle Jim very much enjoyed his life and travels and truly loved his family. I'm so sorry for my cousin, Kelly and everyone who loved him. Grief is the last act of love we have to give to those we loved. Where there is deep grief, there was great love. See you in the next life Uncle Jim. You are missed. XO
