In lieu of flowers

Please consider a contribution to Wildlife Conservation Society, Arbor Day Foundation or New York City Audubon Society.

Background

James had an admiration and a genuine curiosity about the natural world. He had a passion for learning about wildlife, in particular, local birds. Our childhood was filled with bird books, birdhouses, and bird feeders. And even in retirement, one of his last real joys was feeding the local Sandhill Cranes in Stuart, Fl. He would record their movements and love listening to them call back and forth to one another. Helping to preserve the beauty that is in nature seemed only fitting. Please also consider planting a tree in his honor. About Arbor Day Foundation

Each year, the Arbor Day Foundation plants millions of trees across the globe to help clean our drinking water, filter the air, slow climate change, and protect critical wildlife habitats. The need for trees in our forests is greater than ever before. Wildfires, disease, and deforestation have destroyed millions of acres of trees, and your donation will help bring these forests back to life.
